Tape restoration

Damaged or unsupported magnetic tapes, call on DATABACK to restore or migrate your archives.

Why restore or migrate your magnetic tapes?

The rapid evolution of storage systems, the obsolescence of the company’s reading tools and, in some cases, the absence of the technicians who carried out the backups mean that many companies find themselves unable to access data that has been archived on magnetic tape, in some cases for several decades. As certain data must be kept indefinitely, it is important to anticipate and study solutions that can enable these data to be stored in good conditions for future years, in the event of an internal or external need.

DATABACK’s solutions for your tapes

DATABACK can offer you the solution best suited to your needs, so that you can preserve your data over time. We can restore data from DAT, AIT, SLR , 8mm, DLT, SDLT, DDS, LTO tapes, and migrate them to newer media. Of course, this list is not exhaustive: we have a large number of drives at our disposal to handle as many media as possible.

Our experience with tapes doesn’t stop at migration: our laboratory has developed tools for recovering data from tapes that could be damaged, often due to inappropriate storage.

In the case of software specific to your business, our technicians can carry out the necessary development to read and extract the data on these magnetic tapes, whatever the backup format.
