RAID6<\/a>, formando un volume di 144TB. Questo server principale, di cui non era stato effettuato il backup, ospitava un centinaio di macchine virtuali VMWARE, fondamentali per il buon funzionamento dell’azienda. <\/p>\nDopo il crash di diversi dischi rigidi, il nostro cliente ha perso l’accesso a tutti i suoi dati. Synology, il fornitore dell’hardware, \u00e8 intervenuto sul server senza successo. <\/p>\n
L’intervento del nostro laboratorio<\/h2>\n
Il nostro laboratorio ha quindi ricevuto tutta l’attrezzatura per il recupero dei dati. Dopo aver messo in sicurezza tutti i dischi, il tecnico ha analizzato il file system BTRFS e ha scoperto che era stato degradato e non poteva essere riparato, con conseguente perdita totale dei dati. <\/p>\n
“Il BTRFS (B-tree file system) \u00e8 stato progettato per Linux per aggiungere funzionalit\u00e0 avanzate necessarie per lo storage aziendale, come la tolleranza agli errori, la protezione e la gestione dei dati. Ad esempio, introduce una potente funzione di snapshot che consente di creare una copia immediata dei dati, in modo da poterne eseguire il backup senza preoccuparsi che i file vengano modificati o eliminati durante il processo di backup”.<\/em><\/p>\nUtilizzando strumenti proprietari sviluppati dal nostro reparto tecnico, \u00e8 stato possibile ripristinare l’accesso alle zone di dati danneggiate. Il tecnico \u00e8 riuscito a recuperare gli indirizzi delle cartelle e dei file che stava cercando e quindi la struttura dei dati. <\/p>\n
Per la fase finale del recupero, il tecnico ha scansionato l’intero volume RAID6 da 144 TB per estrarre i dati presenti. Ha poi controllato l’integrit\u00e0 dei file recuperati e ha testato le macchine virtuali. Questa fase finale del recupero ha richiesto diversi giorni, viste le dimensioni del RAID da analizzare e il numero di file da testare. <\/p>\n
