In this case, it consists of several <a href=\"https:\/\/www.databack.fr\/recuperation-de-donnees\/systeme-raid\/raid-1\/\">RAID 1<\/a> clusters, themselves aggregated into a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.databack.fr\/en\/data-recovery-expert\/raid-system\/raid-0\/\">RAID 0<\/a>&#8220;super-cluster&#8221;. Using the <em>striping<\/em> principle, data is segmented and striped across the RAID 1 clusters in this array. Furthermore, within each logical unit comprising a RAID 1 array, data is replicated by <em>mirroring<\/em> and written simultaneously to the disks making up the array.   <\/p><p>The RAID 0 configuration brings high performance to the whole system, reducing access times and increasing data processing speed. Thanks to the perfect redundancy provided by <em>mirroring<\/em>, RAID 10 is also highly fault-tolerant. However, this reduces storage capacity: for a system with N disks, this corresponds to the size of the smallest disk multiplied by half N.  <\/p><p>This makes RAID 10 particularly suitable for application servers and databases. However, its architecture and redundancy system add to its hardware requirements. It requires a combination of at least four hard disks (at least two for each RAID 1 array, and at least two RAID 1 arrays to make up the RAID 0 array). By its very nature, RAID 10 is the most costly system. It should therefore be reserved for the storage of sensitive or critical data.    <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-82ee6ea elementor-section-content-middle elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"82ee6ea\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-56b4af1\" data-id=\"56b4af1\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ae1999f elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"ae1999f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">RAID 10 data recovery<\/span>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1692414 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"1692414\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Data loss and recovery on RAID 10 systems<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c46dc97 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c46dc97\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Data recovery on a RAID 10<\/strong> or <strong>RAID 1+0<\/strong> <strong>system<\/strong> benefits from the inherent resilience of the RAID 1 redundancy system. In the event of disk failure, data availability is guaranteed by replication within the cluster. The RAID 10 system, meanwhile, can continue to operate, providing permanent access to working disks. Data reconstruction and synchronization then only involve the clusters affected by the failure.   <\/p><p>The reliability of RAID 10 is further enhanced by the fact that it can withstand the loss of several disks, as long as they do not belong to the same array. Indeed, all the disks in a RAID 1 array would have to be faulty to cause the system to fail. The probability of such a scenario seems low. However, as the disks in the system are mostly from the same series and support the same frequency of use, their life expectancy is virtually identical.   <\/p><p>Data availability in a RAID 10 system can therefore be compromised by a simultaneous failure in a RAID 1 cluster, or in the event of a disaster (electrical damage, flood, fire, etc.).
