This architecture makes it possible to pool data distributed across separate storage devices. This network of devices can be accessed via dedicated servers, as if they were local drives (or hard disks).  <\/p>\n<p>In addition to centralized virtual storage management, the SAN has a number of very advantageous features:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>high-speed data transfer protocol ;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>ability to connect heterogeneous servers (Windows, Unix, etc.) ;<\/li>\n<li>scalable capacity by adding storage bays or media to the SAN ;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The storage network is also designed for high availability and fault tolerance:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>hardware redundancy to guarantee network access in the event of failure;<\/li>\n<li>SAN integration of RAID systems for data redundancy ;<\/li>\n<li>centralized management of backup, restore and recovery operations ;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-toggle-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 id=\"elementor-tab-title-2633\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"3\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-2633\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-toggle-icon elementor-toggle-icon-right\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-toggle-icon-closed\"><i class=\"fas fa-plus-circle\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-toggle-icon-opened\"><i class=\"elementor-toggle-icon-opened fas fa-minus-circle\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-toggle-title\" tabindex=\"0\">NAS and SAN: data security and challenges<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/h3>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-2633\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"3\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-2633\"><p>In addition to their respective advantages, <strong>SANs<\/strong> and <strong>NAS servers<\/strong> bring numerous benefits to the companies and public bodies that use them: access to a large number of users or client workstations, centralization of files and databases, simplification of systems administration and storage management&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>They centralize large volumes and flows of data essential to the activity of a company or public body: secure Internet access, messaging, file sharing, storage of sensitive data&#8230; The loss of data or access to data could have disastrous and irreversible consequences: paralysis of the business, loss of sales, damage to brand image&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>As shared storage resources, NAS and SAN provide solutions for backing up and securing data: redundancy and replication functions without affecting server resources;
